Julia’s Feather

She’d just returned from Egypt after her 3rd trip…or was it Israel?

“What kind of trip?” I asked.

“You know, when the war was going on?”

“Oh.” She then proceeded to tell me about when she lived with the Hopi chiefs.

By that time I was back in Santa Barbara. You know, many of the healers from Santa Barbara ended up here in Ashland.

Roxy Ann Peak

This the third new adventure (second newish area after having explored Emigrant Lake twice a couple weeks ago) and the weather complemented a great hike.

Getting there: I-5 Phoenix exit, take Foothills Road past the Barnett interchange. Shortly after is Cherry Lane (r). Continue into the rolling rural foothills to Hillcrest (r) and then to Roxy Ann Road (l). This winds through a residential area and you pass one of 2 gates.

Hoarfrost in Paradise

This image captures an inverted tomato cage with the tines bent so as not to injure anybody (and for fun!) We use these cages to protect young plants and the freezing fog (hoarfrost) transformed it into something almost unrecognizable. Allow your imagination to run and you might see the device has actually morphed into just the animal we’re attempting to repel.
