| This is a Chinese ceramic pillow, also known as an "opium pillow" or "porcelain pillow". 5" x 6" x 2 ¾" They were believed to have a cooling effect, which was desirable in southern China's hot summers. These headrests were a common piece of paraphernalia in opium dens across China and Southeast Asia in the 19th and early 20th centuries. | WWII Naval Officers Kyu-Gunto parade sword & leather-covered wood scabbard with original brass fixtures. The sword features a mekugi (peg for holding blade into hilt) and measures 78 cm. with a clean nickel-plated blade (without any dents, pitting or other major defects). Total length is 84 cm. On the underside of the guard is the Toyokawa Naval Arsenal inspection mark (an anchor) and below it the logo of the Tokyo-based Wakasei Seisaku Jo (a "W" in a diamond), a Japanese sword company.
