Magnus Chilberg was born in 1846, and died in 1914. They farmed the land now occupied by Maryvale, which is about 4-5 miles northwest of Valley City. Just south across the bridge serving Maryvale the building plot is still discernible. The house was on the east side of the road and the other buildings were on the west side near the river.
