Alicia Viani & Mark Karwan will perform in Ashland at La Baguette Music Cafe on Thursday, Dec. 29 (7-9 pm). As you would expect, La Baguette fronts for a bakery and is located at 340 A Street (Suite 2). There’s a $10 cover and beverages and light fare will be available. This is becoming an annual affair, and if last year’s event at the Public House is any indication, there will be a crowd. Dress for cozy!
Alicia Viani (vocals, guitar) and Mark Karwan (vocals, acoustic bass) create an intimate, expressive song-writer performance. Drawing on earlier professional music careers in other mediums (Alicia, classical oboe and Mark, classical, jazz, and rock bass) their version of folk weaves in jazz, funk and Americana influences with personal and provocative lyrics. Their authenticity provides a moving and connecting musical experience, and were once described as “pulling off making you cry and wanting to dance in the same set.” Alicia and Mark play listening rooms, house concerts, music festivals and private events regionally in the Northwest and locally in Bend, Oregon.
