Note
Christian Stauffer, b. 19 Mar 1615, Signau and reported at Röthenbach. He married
Margret Anthoni (b 1621) daughter of Hans Anthoni and Anna Stauffer of Neuenschwand,
Eggiwil in about 1645. Sponsors were Mathias Hundsperger, Christen Schenk and Barbli
Aegerter. He lived at “un der Bürg” in 1650, 1652, 1659, 1662, 1664. His wife Margret was
listed in the Jan 1672 refugee list with her son who was apparently listed next to her simply as
“Christian” who was married and had a child. Christian later joined his wife in Germany later in
1671 and they were listed as Anabaptists living at Dirmstein, Bayern, Germany on 6 April 1672.

1. Christian Stauffer, b. c1647. He was with his mother in Jan 1672 in Germany with
his wife a child but not in April 1672.
2. Ulrich Stauffer, b. 4 Aug 1650, Eggiwil. d. by 1652, Eggiwil. Sponsors at his
baptism were Uli Haldiman, Uli Stauffer and Barbara Luethi.
3. Ulrich Stauffer, b. 14 Mar 1652, Eggiwil. Sponsors at his baptism were Ulrich
Stauffer, Ulrich Bichsel and Anna Pfaffli. He died at Dirmstein, Germany.
4. Adelheit Stauffer, b. 23 Jul 1654, Eggiwil. Sponsors at her baptism were Peter
Haldiman, Margret Stauffer, Madlena Aegerter.
5. Daniel Stauffer, b. 1 Mar 1657, Eggiwil. Sponsors at his baptism were Niclaus
Neuenschwander, Peter Stauffer and Catherina Bachman. He died after 1706 at
Mückenahuserhof near Ibersheim, Hesse, Germany.
6. Madle Stauffer, b. 1 Jul 1659, Eggiwil. Sponsors at her baptism were Christian
Schwartzentruber, Barbli Galli and Christina Schwitzer.
7. Hans Stauffer, b. 2 Feb 1662, Eggiwil. Sponsors at his baptism were Hans Haldiman,
Benedict Hasler and Barbli Stauffer. He died in Germany.
8. Jacob Stauffer, b. 18 Sep 1664, Eggiwil. Sponsors at his baptism were Christian Zurflu, Jaggi Friderich and Madlena Schenk. He died after 1724 at Eppstein, Germany.
