John Stauffer, b. 26 Mar 1734, Alsheim, Germany. d. 13 Jan 1799, Warwick Township (now Penn), Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He was listed as the oldest son of Christian Stauffer formerly of Warwick Township, deceased in the orphan court of Lancaster when a final settlement was made of his father’s estate in 1769. He was a miller by trade and was first taxed at Warwick Township in 1756. He bought land in 1755 with Jacob Stauffer, his probable uncle, as tenants in common in Warwick Township. Jacob Stauffer and his wife Magdalena later sold their half of the land. John married Barbara Amweg, daughter of Hans Martin and Barbara (Wissler) Amweg of Rapho Township. Barbara was born on 11 Nov 1738 and died on 15 Oct 1809. John’s grandson Abraham wrote that John had a brother Jacob and came from Germany. He was a Mennonite.

2. Catherine Stauffer, b. c1763, Warwick. d. 24 Jan 1793. She married Daniel Hollinger (12 Jan 1764-18 Mar 1822) on 29 Apr 1788 at the Trinity Lutheran Church at Lancaster.

3. John Stauffer, b. 15 Feb 1766, Warwick. He died 14 Aug 1822 at Annville, Lebanon County. He married Mary Kolb, daughter of Henry and Susanna Kulp of Mt. Joy Township, Lancaster County.

4. Mary Stauffer, b. 3 Dec 1768, Warwick. She married first Henry Acker on 31 May 1791 at the First Reformed Church at Lancaster. She married secondly Christian Hershey.

5. Jacob Stauffer, b. 22 Oct 1770, Warwick Township. d. 14 Apr 1802, Warwick Township. He married Anna Nissley 16 Jan 1774-6 Nov 1856), daughter of Martin and Barbara (Reist) Nissley of Mt. Joy Township. He was living at Warwick Township in the 1800 census (10100-20100) next to his brother Joseph. The guardians of his children were Joseph Stauffer and Christian Nissley. Anna lived with her son John in the 1850 census at Penn Township, Lancaster County.

6. Joseph Stauffer, b. 23 Feb 1773, Warwick. He died 3 Dec 1853, Rapho Township. He married Catherine Acker (b. 1780) of Rapho Township

7. Christian Stauffer, b. c1775, Warwick. d. 29 Jul 1778.

8. Martin Stauffer, b. 15 Nov 1778, Warwick. d. 22 Dec 1873, Warwick Township (or Penn Township), Lancaster County. He married Maria Kaufmann, the daughter of Michael and Veronica (Berg) Kauffman who was born on 9 Dec 1781 at Hempfield Township and died 5 Sep 1838. He was living at Penn Township, age 72 in the 1850 census in the household of Henry Snively (b. 1802) and Mary Ann Snively (b. 1812) and their children.

9. Barbara Stauffer, b. 1782, Warwick. She died in Lebanon County. She married Christian Null.
