SF Chronicle Obit: 2 May 2006
"A San Francisco native, resident of Richmond and El Cerrito since 1947. Frank served as a captain in the U.S. Marine Corps, survivor of the sinking of the U.S.S. Chicago off Guadalcanal by enemy aircraft. He served as anti-aircraft officer aobard the U.S.S. Phoenix, he was awarded 5 medals and 7 battle stars for service in the South Pacific. Frank was recalled to active duty and served as a member of the 1st Amtrac Batallion in landins in Inchon and Hungnam, Korea and was awared 2 medals and 2 battle stars for combat in Korea.

A member of the National History Honor Society, Phi Alpha Theata and National Education Honor Society Phi Delta Kappa, and the California Retired Teachers Association Chapter 58.

Frank graduated from St. Ignatius High School and SF State University, he earned his masters degree from U.C. Berkley and doctors degree in education from U.C. Berkley in 1957. He was employed by the West Contra Costa School District and held various positions, retiring as principal after 38 years of service.

Frank married his loving wife, Lucille Aston (Granucci) in March, 1943.
