Apache Trail Through the Superstition Mountains

Friend and former colleague Thomas Glover made sure we explored this wonderful road that connects Apache Junction with Roosevelt Dam about 40 miles to the east. A series of dams along the Salt River have created three lakes (Saguaro, Canyon, and Apache), and we camped at Burnt Corral on Apache Lake. Saw our first rattler, the ring-tailed variety that I photographed from the safety of our truck.
