Niclaus Stouffer, b. c1524. He married Anni Hofstetter in 1551 at Steffisburg. In
1547, Wolfgang Stouffer and his brothers were listed at the Früetisei Farm in Eggiwil and the
neighboring Luchsmatt farm in Eggiwil was operated by Niclaus Stauffer.

Children:
1. Niclaus Stouffer, b. c1552. he lived at Luchsmatt. d. after 1611, Luchsmatt, Eggiwil. He was married to
Cathrin (Trini) Leeman, probably the daughter of the Anabaptist Ulrich and Barbli Leeman of
Kapf, Eggiwil.
2. Barbli Stouffer, b. c1556. d. after 1599, Heidbuhl, Eggiwil. She married Ulrich
Aegerter of Eggiwil. They lived at Heupel (Heidbuhl) in Signau in 1596. She was a sponsor at a
baptism on 8 Nov 1581 at Röthenbach. She was a sponsor at the baptism of Barbli daughter of
Ulrich Leeman and Barbli Ursebacher of Heidbuhl on 22 Apr 1599 at Eggiwil. She was called
Barbli wife if Uli of Heidbuhl when she a sponsor at the baptism of Benedict Stouffer’s daughter
in 1601 at Signau. Although she was alive in 1601, her last child was born in 1596. She had
children born probably from about 1579 to 1596.
3. Peter Stouffer, b. c1558. Of Luchsmatt. Unmarried.
4. Elsi Stouffer, b. c1560. d. Hinten, Eggiwil. She married Christian Schenk of
Eggiwil. Children born end in 1600-sons Hans, Michael and Niclaus and maybe more before
1589. Christian was a sponsor at the baptism of Christian, son of Christian Stauffer and
Adelheid Oppliger in 1615 at Signau. Elsi’s last child was born in 1600.
5. Anna Stouffer, b. c1569. She married Cuni Grüssi (b. 24 Jan 1569), son of Conrat
Grüssi of Grosshöchstetten on 16 Nov 1590 at Grosshöchstetten, Bern. She was called Anni
Stouwer at the baptism of her son in 1594.
