CHILBERG FAMILY: Edna (Chilberg) Overmyer (plus 2 others)
By Donna Nix

Edna Chilberg worked at Jamestown for the telephone company when she was a young girl. She was married to a man named Jenson and to Charlie McCright before she married Oliver L. Overmyer. After she married Oliver, who was a career army man, they lived in Nebraska, Cheyenne, Wyoming; Medford, Oregon; and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Edna was active in community affairs, was a member of Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile. She was a national officer in the Nile for a term. She could be a cut-up at army parties and Oliver encouraged her in this, as they had a good time together and Oliver was very proud of her and loved her dearly. Edna helped many members of her family and was devoted to them all.

The Overmyers bought an interest in the Economy Lumber Company in Medford, Oregon, with Ralph Stephenson. Donna Nelson worked there for a year or so. During WWII, Col. Overmyer was called back into the service and was stationed at the Philadelphia Quartermaster Depot where Donna Nelson worked as a clerk and secretary and lived with the Overmyers again. The Overmyer's son, Charles, was born in December, 1916. He graduated from high school in Medford, OR, and was married to Jean Fox from Medford, on October 16, 1937. They were divorced in about 1944. Charles was an officer in the Army Infantry during WWII and was stationed in the Southwest Pacific area. Charles and his wife, Lorraine, live in Dupont, WA now and have two children, Charles, Jr., and Linda. Oliver L. Overmyer died December 23, 1959, and Edna died in 1968.
