This hike is listed on page 90 in the 101 great hikes in southern Oregon. We walked along the Rogue River thru Takelma Gorge from Woodruff Bridge to the Rogue Baptist camp and returned the same way. The trail is rough in places due to lava rocks, although nobody appeared to struggle. The 6 miles (3 in, 3 out) seemed to fly by, and the greatest distance was the drive to the trailhead (65 miles from Safeway).
We took Hwy. 62 until almost reaching Union Creek. The road heading to Woodruff bridge is shortly before Beckie’s Pie Shoppe and on the left.
